Temple Beth Tikvah strives to promote a positive Jewish identity and lifelong love of learning in our children by fostering a warm and inviting learning environment. Our school’s approach to Jewish learning is a curriculum that emphasizes spirituality, ethics, Tikkun Olam, customs, history and ritual through a combination of traditional and creative age-appropriate teaching methods. We use the Chai curriculum, developed by the Union for Reform Judaism, which focuses classroom learning on Torah, Avodah and G’milut Chasadim. This approach to Jewish learning is based on the “Understanding by Design” curriculum development model, which is widely used in the field of general education. Creative age-appropriate activities include holiday celebrations, community service, art, music, sports, and appreciation of the natural world in our six acre woods.
Religious school is taught from Kindergarten-7th grade on Sunday mornings, 10:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Please contact the Temple for the preschool class schedule.
