Hi Everyone, Our last book club meeting was about the book “Not From Here “ by Lea Lax. The book is a recounting of tales from people living in Houston who came here from all over the world. These immigrants and refugees shared their stories of desperation and hope. Those of us who weren’t born here shared our stories of why we came to live in Houston. Sisterhood Luncheon
Please join Sisterhood for a fun loving luncheon at Noon Mirch Indian Restaurant Sunday March 2,2025. at 12:30 pm. This excellent restaurant is located on Nasa1 between Hwy 3 and Egret Bay. As spring approaches we prepare for our fun Purim holiday. We meet at 1 pm Sunday, March 9. This year Rabbi Marcy invites Sisterhood into her home to make homemade Hamentashen that we will share at a Potluck and service commencing on 14 March at 5 pm at TBT. Services at 7 pm. Hi everyone, Our last book club meeting was about the book “Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots” by Deborah Feldman. In this memoir she documented her life in an ultra-religious Jewish community in Brooklyn, New York. She then recounted her escape from the sect. Our next book is “Before We Were Yours” by Lisa Wingate. It is a historical fiction novel based on a horrifying scandal that occurred with adoptions at a Memphis based orphanage. Though this is…
