The book is “Kindred” by Octavia E. Butler. It is a neo-slave narrative that blends time travel and the livid experiences of enslaved people. The meaning of the book is to discuss the effects of U.S. American slavery. The themes of this novel include familial love, slavery, gender, marriage, and time travel. Mardy will lead the discussion. We meet in the TBT library.
