Our last book club meeting was about the book “The View From Penthouse B” by Elinor Lipman. It is a post-financial-crash comedy about a 50ish widow and her divorced sister living together in a Greenwich Village apartment. We compared the lives of the characters to our own experiences, living in and visiting New York City. A good time was had by all! In honoring Shavuot, we celebrate with a 5:30 pot luck June 14, the second Friday night of June. Rabbi Marci requests that we have a Milchec (dairy) meal. Our previous month’s meal was enjoyed by all as we shared a renewed feeling of community. Welcome are families in the area new and already members. Book Club Meeting
Hi everyone, Our last book club meeting was about the book “Take My Hand” by Dolan Perkins-Valdez. We discussed the role of the U.S. government in controlling the reproductive rights of women in 1973 and currently. Then it was forced sterilization, now, eliminating access to abortions. We agreed that we need access to safe and legal abortions in the entire country. We compared our childhoods to those of the characters in the book. We also talked about guilt and how…

Our Sisterhood’s Annual Meeting takes place in the Library of TBT following Book Club September 22 at 2 pm. Bring your $36 dues along with energy and ideas for growing our community.
