Hello to all this chilly wet day! A good day to read a book! Our book for Feb is The Witness by Norah Roberts. This book combines high stake suspense and romance. The next meeting is scheduled for 2/27 -Sunday- at 12:30 in the TBT library.
Friends are welcome.
At our Jan meeting we discussed the book Manhattan Beach- a novel based on the first woman deep sea diver at the Brooklyn Navy Yard during WW11. Those of us from NY enjoyed the mention of many familiar places. We discussed the many characters and their motivations.
The book had several layers of stories. I learned for the first time that in 1942 four Nazi Saboteurs landed on a beach near Amagansett, Long Island NY. The plan was to sabotage American defense production. A similar group landed on a beach in Florida. They were all arrested
Within 2 weeks.
Books planned for the future; March- The Lost Girls of Paris by Pam Jenoff – about a ring of female secret agents during WW11: April – The Midnight Library by Matt Haig- a change of pace – science fiction- “wildly inventive blend of literary and speculative fiction” (Godreads Choice Awards 2020).
Please submit any other suggestions for books to discuss at next meeting.
