Our last book club meeting was about the book “Before We Were You” by Lisa Wingate. This historical fiction novel is based on the true story of the scandal that occurred with adoptions at a Memphis based orphanage. Some of the women at the meeting recounted their own experiences when they adopted their children.
Our next book is “The Gown” by Jennifer Robson. It is an enthralling historical novel about one of the most famous wedding dresses of the twentieth century, Queen Elizabeth’s wedding gown, and the fascinating women who made it. It sounds like a pleasant departure from the serious books we have recently read.
The next book club meeting will be on Sunday, April 20th, at 12:20 in the TBT library.
You are welcome to come to the book club even if you haven’t completed the book or read the book yet. You can still contribute to the conversation and have a good time.
Feel free to bring lunch or a snack.
