Our last book club meeting was about the book “The Faculty Lounge “ by Jennifer Matthieu. It recalls the lives of teachers, administrators and staff at a Texas high school.
Since many members of the book club are retired teachers we discussed memorable experiences from our own teaching careers. Some stories were funny, some were tragic. We laughed a lot and had a really good time.
The next book is “The Pearl” by John Steinbeck. In “The Pearl “, Kino, a poor fisherman, finds a massive pearl that promises wealth and a better future for his family. Instead it brings greed, violence and death.
Our next book club meeting will be on Sunday, October 19th, at 12:30 in the TBT library.
If you haven’t already done so, please bring $36 for the annual Sisterhood dues. The book club is supposed to be only for Sisterhood members.
Feel free to bring lunch or a snack.
